Picnic Capital was founded by Dr. Husein Moloo, after two decades of success in creating and scaling businesses.
Founded by Dr. Husein Moloo, Picnic Capital combines decades of entrepreneurial success with operational expertise. From starting a CD manufacturing business in high school with his family to scaling real estate developments and co-founding award-winning ventures like PurposeMed, Husein’s diverse experiences have shaped Picnic’s ability to support businesses at all stages.
Our ventures include Highpoint Developments, a real estate company with a national footprint, and PurposeMed, a virtual healthcare platform recognized on Deloitte’s Fast 50 list. Through a history of innovation, we’ve built the operational and technical expertise to scale world-class businesses.

CEO
An entrepreneur for over two decades, Dr. Husein Moloo is the Founder and CEO of Picnic Capital, overseeing the investment pipeline and portfolio. Husein has a Master’s in Public Health from Brown University, an MD from the University of Calgary and a Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene from the University of London School of Tropical Medicine. He has been recognized in 2023 as a top 40 under 40 in Calgary and as an EY Entrepreneur of the year.

Chief Financial Officer
Jonah oversees Finance and Accounting, Investor Relations, Treasury and Tax for Picnic Capital and plays a key role in business development activities. Prior to joining Picnic Capital, Jonah held senior finance and corporate development roles at CES Energy Solutions and Pipestone Energy, and worked in the audit and M&A advisory practices at Deloitte where we obtained his CPA.

Chief Operating Officer
Lindsay oversees Picnic Capital’s investment operations, and partners with the leadership teams of portfolio companies to provide strategic and operational support. Prior to Picnic Capital, Lindsay spent 9 years at Bain & Company, 3 years as an Operating Partner at OMERS Private Equity, and held a variety of leadership positions in early-stage technology companies (Properly, Bench Accounting, PurposeMed). Lindsay holds an MBA from Kellogg and a Bachelor of Arts in Business Administration from the Richard Ivey School of Business.

VP Business Affairs & General Counsel
Luke provides legal and commercial advice and oversight at Picnic Capital. Previously, he practiced corporate and commercial law in Calgary and Edmonton, at a leading national law firm where he specialized in infrastructure development, capital projects, commercial transactions, and M&A. Luke holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Alberta School of Business, and a Juris Doctor Degree from the University of Alberta Faculty of Law.

Operating Advisor
Ali co-founded myDigitalOffice (MDO) as a way to provide customers with centralized, digital access to all their hotel’s most critical documents and performance metrics. He currently holds a board seat, after selling MDO to Cove Hill Partners in 2022. Prior to founding MDO, Moloo was the CEO of DigitalOffice.ca, one of the fastest-growing office product companies in Canada. In addition to advising Picnic Capital,Ali is currently focused on building out a platform of home services, and investing selectively in venture-stage SaaS.

Operating Advisor
As President of Commonwealth Hotels for nine years, Brian managed over sixty branded hotels and fifteen F&B outlets nationwide, dramatically growing revenue and profit during his tenure. Prior to that, he held leadership positions in a wide area of the hospitality industry at Hilton Worldwide, GE Capital, Winston Hotels and GS Development.
